The BEA PTA would like to wish Mrs. Borders a Happy Retirement! We are so sad to see you go and will miss you dearly. You have been an instrumental part of making Bartow Elementary Academy the awesome school that it is. We will always remember all that you have done for our students, teachers, staff, and PTA! On December 16, 2011, Bartow Elementary Academy was presented with the 2011 Sol Hirsch NWA Education Grant. Leigh Spann, from News-Channel 8 in Tampa, visited our school and presented the STEM Teacher, Linda Hughes, with the check for $750. This National Weather Association grant is funded by the many NWA members who contribute to this fund in honor of Sol Hirsch who retired in 1992 after being the NWA Executive Director for 11 years. Out of 500 schools that applied for this grant throughout the country, Bartow Elementary Academy was ranked number one.

Thank you to everyone that volunteered and shopped at the BEA PTA Holiday shop. We raised $800, we were able to donate to a family in need and $600 to the Church Service Center.
